I am the owner and manager of Nova Vita Yoga.

I have practised yoga casually for 25 years. My journey to becoming a yoga teacher started in 2011, when I became injured and joined a gym for rehabilitation. I fell in love with the Yoga fusion classes taught there (Body Balance), and trained to become a Body Balance instructor. Eager to expand my knowledge and to share it with others, I continued my fitness study, undertaking a certificate 3 and certificate 4 in Fitness. This led me to YogaFit, a style “founded in yoga, grounded in Fitness”. Yogfit teaches all the traditions of yoga from a fitness and exercise science approach. I have now completed YogaFit Instructor training to level 3, and I have completed my YogaFit for Warriors (Trauma-Sensitive yoga) qualification (150 hours). I am qualified in Core Yoga, have completed my Vinyasa Flow Teacher training (285 hours) with Yoga Trinity and completed level 1 and level 2 Yin Yoga and Mindfulness teacher training with Sarah Owen. I am also qualified to teach pre-natal, kids and older adult specialised classes. Yoga has aided me in my personal recovery from depression and physical injury. I enjoy sharing yoga with others, so they too may find their own path to health and inner peace with the aid of yoga.

The style I teach is based on my Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga training, and is focused on conscious breathing as the way to connect the body and the mind. The language I use in classes is inclusive, action-oriented, and positive. I encourage my class participants to move safely into (and out of) a pose, using the breath and the awareness of where their energy is going to find their form and shape. Just as movement follows breath, form follows feeling and awareness. Participants are reminded to "check in" with their bodies throughout the class, be present in their bodies, and find their place in the pose "for today".

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Nova Vita Yoga needs to collect some personal information about students before participation in a class. We collect only the minimum information necessary to comply with our insurance requirements, for safety needs and to allow us to contact you in the event that class details change. Your information is not shared with other organisations for any commercial purposes.

Nova Vita Yoga uses Google's Workspaces cloud applications for business to store our information including customer records. Google's Workspaces provides world-class security features to protect their business customers information and business information stored in Workspaces is not harvested by Google for any marketing or re-use purposes.
